Application Call for NAGC International
Journalism Award 2017

Nepal Association for Global Cooperation (NAGC) and Janasawal Media P. Ltd., Kathmandu, seek application for the NAGC International Journalism Award 2017 via this public notice.
NAGC International Journalism Award: NAGC International Journalism Award is jointly established by Nepalese Association for Global Cooperation and Janasawal Media P. Ltd. Kathmandu. The Award recognize, every year, a journalist who through his/her pioneering work, produce quality news and information that makes significant contribution in the field.
Eligibility: Applicant can be reporter, editor, presenter/producer, author, citizen journalist or blogger from any part of the world.
Apply with a detail explanation with example of how the nominee’s work as a journalist has had an outstanding impact in the field. Typical impacts triggered by NAGC Award by: originality, utility, and effectiveness, changes in government policy, exploring new ideas or establishing productive trend.
The following selection criteria has been determined to be eligible for consideration.
All journalists actively working at any media house in any language, in any part of the world can apply. The award will be given evaluation of submitted news, news materials, and articles on journalism, other original articles and books.
The articles published or broadcasted online, prints and electronic media or online news portal can be included in the competition. Apart from the excellent materials, points will be given for participant’s experience, skills and contributions.
According to the NAGC International Journalism Award Guideline, a 3 members selection Committee consisting of senior journalists will determine the winner of NAGC International Journalism Award 2017. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

3.Basis of effectiveness of the submitted items as explained by the applicant.
4.Evidence to verify affiliation with any journalism institutions around the world (optional

6.Cover later mentioning your claim for award.

Award winner receive a trip to Nepal, where they will be honored NAGC Award on December 2017. Winner will receive a $1000.00 cash prize, crystal trophy and award certificate.

International Journalism Award

NAGC International Journalism Award is internationally reputed award in the field of Journalism. This award was established by the founder President of Nepal Association for Global Cooperatio (NAGC) Mr. Mani Nepali Paneru in the fond memory of his mother Dil Kumari Paneru Khanal and the fund has been allocated from the founder president each year as a gesture to NAGC as the founder president. The award is to be presented jointly by NAGC, Global USA and Janasawal Media Network, Nepal. Nepalese Association for Global Cooperation (NAGC), USA, an Internationally recognized social organization. The Award, carries $1000.00 cash with award certificate and cristal trophy, is given to an Internationally renown journalist once in a year.

It’s our extrem pleasure to announce that the award selection committee for 2017 has decided to offer this Award to television anchor, reporter, author, Kiran Babu Marahatta. Mr. Marahatta is globally renown Nepali television anchor who serves as the U.S. correspondent of ABC Television, Nepal. He is the author of 2 outstanding books regarding television programs. ABC Watch, Crosscheck and Nagarik Sambad (People’s Dialuge) are his famous shows. Marahatta is the first Nepali tv anchor to interview with U.S. congressman (Joseph Crowley) and world’s best soccer star Lionel Messi. During his decade long contribution in the television anchoring he has mounted remarkable success by hosting 3000 television shows.

The award is given to him for his episodes, “U.S. Immigration Special” and “NRNA Election Debate.” Those shows, produced in August and May, 2017 respectively, had outstanding contribution to generate awareness regarding U.S. immigration policy and Nepalese American.

The award ceremony will be held at Reporter’s club, Kathmandu on March 14, 2018.
